MS CMPE Admission Requirements

An applicant must have a degree equivalent to a four-year U.S. baccalaureate degree in computer related fields including Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science.

An applicant must have an baccalaureate degree where the medium of instruction was English or have passed the TOEFL exam with a score of at least 550 paper based, 213 computer based, or 80 for the Internet based test.

The General Test GRE is required if an applicant does not have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university in the United States or Canada. Minimum GRE requirements are 650 Quantitative score, 3.0 Analytical Writing score, as well as 1000 combined Quantitative and Verbal scores.

B (3.0) or better of the last 60 technical semester units.

Academic and professional references are not required.

The department admits the most qualified applicants to fill its available space. In other words, an applicant that meets all admission requirements might be denied due to insufficient space.

Conditionally Classified admission is only for a “most qualified” applicant with noncritical course deficiencies.
