MS CMPE Admission Requirements

An applicant must have a degree equivalent to a four-year U.S. baccalaureate degree in computer related fields including Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science.

An applicants without a US baccalaureate degree must pass the TOEFL or equivalent exam. For the latest information regarding English-Language Proficiency Exam Requirements, please refer to http://info.sjsu.edu/web-dbgen/narr/admission/rec-1867.html.

The General Test GRE is required if an applicant does not have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university in the United States. Minimum GRE requirements are 650 Quantitative score and 1000 combined Quantitative and Verbal scores.

B (3.0) or better.

Academic and professional references are not required.

The department admits the most qualified applicants to fill its available space. In other words, an applicant that meets all admission requirements might be denied due to insufficient space.

Conditionally Classified admission is for a most qualified applicant with noncritical course deficiencies and slightly lower than 3.0 GPA.
